The posts of the ring were held up by ropes attached to sand bags. Some hard-working ATP brothers first attempted to aquire sand from the playground at the married student's apartments. Unfortunately, some married student who could have minded his/her own business called the campus police, who captured our heroes and took them to the campus authorities. An interrogation followed in which the boys were threatened that if the dean ever saw them again, he would take them to the city police. The boys were released, then they filled the bags with pea gravel from the driveway of the apartment of Pierce Hodnette and Herb Ladley.
