Beta Pi Blog, Vol.2006, No.18 - Honoring Marc "The Rat" Darling

Beta Pi:
Thanks to the miracle of technology, I was able to electronicaly "crop" the photo from Olympic Tales, 1984 to crop out the offending images of partially clad Frank J. Biller fbiller1@msn.com, thus making possible the internet publication herein.
This photo cropping is posted in honor of Marc "The Rat" Darling mldarling@comcast.net.

Beta Pi Blog, Vol.2006, No.17 - Honoring Mark "Cheeks" Reed

Beta Pi:
Today is a fine day, for I anounce receipt of contacts from two of the "all time greats" of ATO:
Venerable Brother Mark "Cheeks" Reed: mark@thereedco.com
Venerable Brother Mark "The Rat" Darling: mldarling@comcast.net
I am posting an e-mail from Cheeks on today's blog.
The blog is a success thanks to brothers who continue to provide new e-mail addresses on other brothers. Commendations abound!
Todays photo honors Cheeks, entitled "The Amazing Cheek-un performs 'The Levitation' with D. Price and Doctor Phibes."
I have photos of The Rat from Olympic Tales, 1984, but regrettably they are not suitable for publication, because of the special attire required at Olympic Tales (or lack thereof).

Beta Pi Blog, Vol.2006, No.16 - The Human Crab - Honoring Randy Martin

Beta Pi:
Good news, I have another brother to add to our ever-growing list, the immortal Randy Martin: vantucky@mindspring.com

I received a cryptic response from anonymous screen name "POWALES."
Does anyone know who the human claiming to be POWALES is?
I like to post a picture, to spark memories. Today's picture is entitled: "Buck Biller demonstrates The Human Crab" at 2003 Stooges Reunion, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Chicago."

Beta Pi Blog, Vol.2006, No.15 - Honoring Steve Starr and Frank Biller

Beta Pi:
My best friends in the world are Steve "Vinny" Starr and Frank "Buck" Biller. They have been there for me all these years since we graduated in 1975. That is how much ATO has meant to me.
In 2003, Vinny and Buck and I had a "Stooge Reunion" in Chicago. It was so much fun! Vinny had a limo to carry us around town. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton. I've attached a picture of Vinny reading his favorite magazine in the limo. The other picture is of us having a great dinner together at Nick's in Chicago.
We hurl insults at each other for fun and laughs, but I tell you this: Buck and Vinny are more than ATO brothers, they are brothers to me. I was fortunate to pledge ATO, and made several friends in ATO, and of course, I love all of my ATO brothers.

Beta Pi Blog, Vol. 2006, No.14 - Honoring Pierce Hodnette and Herb Ladley

Beta Pi:
I was having no difficulty setting up this "blog" until I had to choose "public" or "private" blog. I chose private at first, intending this to be a blog which only ATO's could access.
A problem arose: some of you guys (readers) are AOL users, some are not. Set up as a private blog, it was prompting you to enter "user name and password." AOL told me today that only AOL users can log on to a "private" blog.
So, I had no choice, it must be a "public" blog. That made me think, why worry about public vs. private? I worry because I was born that way, and here is how I'm leaving it. I suggest, dear brothers, that you not write things on this blog that you would not want your mother, father, brother, sister, wife, child, grandchild to read.
I don't mind reading the profane and prurient, but others might.
If you know of other ATO's, give them this URL address:.

Today's photo is entitled "Pierce "The Wimp" Hodnette, Herb Ladley and Becky Denham, Columbia Tales, 1973."
I love and respect all of my ATO brothers.

Larry Simons

Beta Pi Blog, Vol. 2006, No.13 - Honoring Reunion 2005 Tales & Rod Yanker

Beta Pi:
It took an e-mail from Venerable Pierce Hodnette, asking me "where is this blog, and how do I look at it?"
That inspired me to shift from e-mail newsletter format, and actually create a blog. Gentlemen, the Beta Pi Blog is born.
Steve Cummings e-mailed me, and said he found Van "Woman" Sayler. Somehow, and I'm glad, Van Sayler e-mailed me and he is alive and well.
Van Sayler: van.sayler@raymondjames.com
I found a photo I hope you'll appreciate. Vinny Starr attended our last Reunion 2005, and served as Prince for a game of Tales. As you may have heard, the Vanderbilt Administration PC Police outlawed the game.
