IS "BETA PI BLOG" JUNK E-MAIL?: Yes, and no! It is not this e-mail. This e-mail contains some written content of the "Beta Pi Blog", not the entire content. The "blog" is actually a web-site, it includes pictures, links, Archives of previous issues, and other time-wasters. To get there, go to web address: http://beta-pi-blog.blogspot.com .
I have always had a fascination with Volcanos. And, I’ve been reading and hearing about Mount Redoubt Volcano erupting, just 100 miles from Anchorage, Alaska, the home of that great Tick-a-lor and Blog Correspondent, Joel Kadarauch joel.kadarauch@odomcorp.com , a.k.a. Itchy, a.k.a. Jor-el.
Volcanos are truly spectacular. Some great photos . . . Arena Volcano. Catania Eruption. Hawaii. Kilauea. Lengai. Merapi. Pavlof. My favorites, Puuoo Fountain. Puuoo at Dawn. Puuoo.
Which reminds me, lately there have been allegations that the Blog has a "Ta-Ta Obsession" (See Vol.2009, No.04). Today’s issue - purely
about volcanos, natural disaster, and its affect on one of our beloved Tick-a-lors - should help to dispel these allegations about obsession with Ta-Ta’s.!
Ever on the cutting edge of world news, the blog contacted Joel:
THE ITCHY REPORT - REDOUBT VOLCANO ERUPTS:
BLOG: Joel: I've been hearing news about Mount Redoubt Volcano, 100 miles southwest of Anchorage - erupted 5 times, spewing ash 9 miles into the sky! Hope you and your family are ok. If you want to write a blurb about it, and how its affected you and your fair city - I'll put it on the blog.
Larry
The ash went north and we're east. No telling about next time, tho. This thing could be active for months. (In the late '80's it blew and it covered Anchorage.
You've never seen anything quite so unnerving as a massive black volcanic cloud approaching, and when it arrives, day is night!)
We'll be heading to our place in Homer this weekend (Google-Earth it, it's beautiful) and on the way down we pass by Redoubt, across Cook Inlet. The views are splendid. I'll shoot some pics for you if the weather's clear. You won't believe it!
Cheers,
Joel"
Thanks, Joel.

"Larry,
I have sent what I hope will be a confirmed address for the crazy-legged one. No Steak, perhaps, but prime tuna, and [Edited, for content.] spectacular (I know that Art recalls them). Hope that she responds. And I hope all have received their reunion 2009 packet and are planning NOW to come to Nashville.
Muenchy"
TO MUENCHY: Great comment. If you get a response, let us know, we'll roll out the blog-red-carpet for her, girl-friends-o-yore style. Looking forward to seeing you in October.

TO JOEL:
Sorry to hear the ash is headed for Homer. Are you still going to drive there? Does your homeowners insurance cover damage from volcanic ash? I hope Redoubt has mercy on you.
Larry
FROM JOEL:
Hope to go tomorrow unless it stops us. You can’t drive through ash, as it completely ruins car engines, windshields, etc. No worries on homes, tho.
Chief Arctic Geophysical (and metaphysical) blog correspondent “Itchy” will report in with updates and pictures, if possible.
