Beta Pi:
IS BETA PI BLOG WITHOUT ANY REDEEMING SOCIAL OR ARTISTIC MERIT?:
YEA . . . .
Beta Pi Blog exists for one reason: to bring ATO, Beta Pi Chapter Brothers and ATO Gal-Pals together. The blog does not take itself very seriously - it is meant for
fun, and therefore is non-political. It includes pictures, links, Archives of previous issues, and other time-wasters. To get there, go to web address: http://beta-pi-blog.blogspot.com .
GUEST BLOGMEISTER TISON KEEL: Long ago (like - 2006), we opened up this Blog to guest writers, to contribute pieces to this Blog.

Judge Earl Stover - The Law On (Treacherous) Village Creek, Texas
By Tison Keel
I looked forward to a short respite from the madness of Houston, as I drove to Silsbee, Texas to enjoy the operatic recital of Elise Stover, eldest daughter of Brother Earl Tumbleweed Stover - ATO and Texan of note. (Elise has some impressive pipes by the way - worthy of an American Idol tryout in my opinion, and studying music with a special interest in opera at LSU.)
Silsbee, population 6,393 is in East Hardin County. What could be a more relaxing short escape from the problems of the big city naked and the dead? Shades of bucolic Mayberry, RFD? Think again!
I stopped just inside the town line to gas up and spotted the latest edition of the Silsbee Bee for sale. With fond remembrances of the weekly editions at the ATO house, which Earl would drop off after he finished with them, I picked one up. I expected quilting circles, bake sales, Boy Scout good deeds, and entertaining marriage notices. Check out the front page! MURDER! SCALPING!! BEATINGS! BABY IN A DRYER!!
Baby in a dryer? We’re talking the Big Thicket of East Texas, and anything goes! And, standing on the thin line separating barbarism and civilization, who do we find? Why, past Worthy Chaplain and current Texas District Judge Earl Stover ebstoveriii@aol.com , making front page news.
I venture to guess few other Brothers have made the news as frequently, and doing so through positive contributions to the steadfast maintenance of Law and Order, rather than investment scams or shameful public displays of bag-headed, naked drinking games. We little suspected, but must have sub-consciously known that Earl was The Man for the Worthy Chaplain’s post, for he has continued steadfastly to represent those . . . eternal and immutable principles, to . . . stand together and contend for the supremacy of good over evil. (Otis A. Glazebrook, 1880).
Earl is still non-committal about our 35th reunion at VU.
Earl - you MUST be there!
TO TISON: Excellent article, thank you my friend! I will do my best to post the pdf image of the Silsbee Bee article you submitted, although I do not think this thing is wired for that kind of image.
In case it fails, I’ll add this editorial footnote:
Earl was the Judge who put the Baby-in-the-Dryer-Guy behind bars, not the baby. Hey, here in
goober-ville-wacky Tennessee - where our politicians pass laws allowing us to harvest road-kill deer meat and
laws allowing us to carry guns in public parks and bars , and threaten to secede from the Union,
Judges have been known to do weird and wacky things. Tennessee once had a Court of Appeals Judge write a contributing article for Penthouse Magazine, talk about a scandal. Just so ya know!

ATO GAL PALS - NEW INDUCTEE: My usual internet sleuthing led me to a semi-secret Gal-Pal e-mail - a sort of underground gossip network, and Beta-Pi-Blog brings it to you, dear reader, exclusively.
Here is the e-mail exchange between
Tuti-Fruity Beauty BECKY BRUNING MANYAK to none-other-than

finally reading this wild site. do not understand why I am never mentioned.!?! if my memory is correct, I spent a great deal of time at the ato house! saw the wrong number of legs on that creature downstairs too many times.
TO BETTY: Thanks for the compliment, the Blog does enjoy
walking on the wild side!
However, the Blog hereby disavows any knowledge whatsoever of any alleged 3-legged creatures in the Zebra Room. Humanoids have only 2 visible legs, and Zebras have 5 - although there was once a
Humanoid Rat, a/k/a Biggie, with 3-legs. There must be a short circuit in your memory bank.
WITHOUT FURTHER TOO-DO, PLEASE WELCOME BETTY INGLE BACH e.bach@comcast.net . Betty, you are hereby invited to Reunion Weekend October 22 - 23, 2010. It is easy - Friday nite Class Party; Saturday afternoon Tail Gate and Homecoming Game; Saturday evening 4th Annual ATO Dinner, 7:30 p.m., at Cabana!
