NEW CONTEST – BETA PI BLOG “DIGITAL” CONTEST

By Bozino Lorenzo

Since its inception in August 2006, Beta Pi Blog has been controversial.

Some have said the Blog is sophomoric.  Some have accused the Blog of

spreading political messages  – a false accusation.

Some have inferred the Blog patronizes women.  Others have complimented the Blog on its “Contests”.  Your Blog Staff has not let you down.

Over the years, photographs of Tick-a-lors and

ATO Gal-Pals, and other Celebrities . . . .

have surfaced that show a trend in the growing use of “Digital” technology.  We have decided to compile these and create a Contest . . .

THE DIGITAL CONTEST.

Contest Rules:  Simply vote on your favorite “Digital” Photo and write a very short blurb (100 words or less, no profanity) why your pick is the “Best Digital Photo.”  Entries must not be posted or mass e-mailed.  Entries must be sent to Blog Editor via e-mail at Lasimons4law@aol.com .

Drum roll please . . . . AND YOUR . . . BETA PI BLOG “DIGITAL” PHOTO CONTESTANTS ARE . . . :

BECKY BRUNING – “THE MUD CHICK” – this is a "digital" photo that will live . . . in infamy.

MATTHEW “DON’T CALL ME” HART, aka The Abominable Doctor Phibes. (This is Phibes enjoying his digit, and himself at the Annual ATO Dinner back in 2009!)

BONNIE PARKER, showing some "Digital Cigarette Action"

JAY CUTLER flashing his digit (at least Buck Biller says this is Cutler).

MARK “MARLON” McGANN - just being Marlon (Chip Heartfield sent this picture, and has promised a side-story on the actual facts behind this photo, but they are waiting on Marlon, and you know how difficult Marlon can be about “particulars.”  So that side-story will have to wait, but we wanted this “Digital Photo” to be part of the contest.)

COREY "STUBBS" CLARK. (All digits displayed at The Fight.)

SPAWN OF BOSS MEETS SON OF DOCTOR PHIBES!

Recently, Boss Stein sent me a nice note, regarding himself and

Matthew "Don't Call Me" Hart -

along with this picture:

“Larry, Matt brought his neat son Michael to town to visit campus. My son, Tyler ( who has just graduated from VU) and I had dinner at Jimmy Kelly's.”

The two Geezers in this shot look really happy, and really crocked.  Handsome young lads.  I had previously received this note from Phibes, which I think describes the same meeting:

“Hey LARRY, I had a nice visit with Mr. John Stein and his son Tyler last night.  Boss was nice enough to keep it to Def-Con 2 with my son Mike who was on a College Tour.  Attached is a photo of 2012 version of Shipwreck.  Pools no longer allowed in basement so they built this.  We went inside to say Hello, met some young ladies who called themselves AT Ho's.  I think I prefer wenches but I didn't say anything about that.  I introduced myself to one of the lads who immediately asked if I was there when the guy lit himself on fire at Shipwreck.  I told him he was looking at him, autographed his notebook and bolted before my kid could figure anything out.  I hope. Since Stoner got it wrong and Qualls and Wharton had no recall, here in his own words is the finger-giver on the context of the car photo:

Chip isn't that the rent-a-wreck you had one weekend? In the back seat, I think, are me, obviously, Sean and Chip and in the front Qualls and Stoner with Wharton in the background. I think you were generously allowing Qualls to take the helm. If that is the car then that would be the same occasion on a Sunday morning where, after dragging myself to the house, I was feeling so beaten up and downtrodden that the gutter seemed like the appropriate place to be so that's where I sat down. As others came to the house naturally they were curious and asked what I was doing. When I explained why I was there I was soon joined by kindred spirits to the point where someone brought a couch out for us to sit on, in the gutter. It was before the couch came out that you came by in that car giving us a bemused yet somewhat disgusted appraisal. I also remember this guy with a red headed girl in a convertible pulling up thinking they had scored a primo parking spot only to look down and see that it was occupied. They didn't even bother to ask. Judging by the cup on the roof of the car somebody had been to Wendy's. I seem to recall that eventually a game of gutter Tales broke out.

FROM STEVE CUMMINGS:

"LOVE IT! Beat the hell outta the Gamecocks! (Who would call themselves a gamecock???)

Looking forward to seeing you at Reunion!
Steve Cummings"

TO STEVE: Yeah. Game is good. Guess they figure "Cock" is good, too. IT IS!!!!!!!!! HAAAAAA! Together: "gamecock" is a mighty symbol of illegal cock-fighting. Wonder why the PC crowd never "crows" about that? What kind of "bird-brains" are they? I guess civility and reason "flew-the-coop!" . . . . Looking forward to seeing Mighty Scummings!

FROM TISON KEEL:

"I hope this is a defensive cheer! The idea of dropping anchor on offense is all to familiar to a longtime watcher of Vandy football.
Does anyone remember the debacle of "The Gold Rush Is On?" I'm not sure what year it occurred. Our Cheerleaders introduced at one home game a new, prize-winning cheer penned by some Nashville highschool student as part of a contest. The student section booed it, and it was never heard again.
