Beta Pi:

FROM MARK “CHEEKS” REED

Larry,

150 years old…wonder what Otis Allen Glazebrook is thinking…

“Alpha Tau Omega was founded at the Virginia Military Institute on September 11, 1865 by Otis Allan Glazebrook, Erskine Mayo Ross, and Alfred Marshall. Glazebrook's plan was to use Christian brotherly love as a way to help facilitate reconciliation between the North and South in the aftermath of the American Civil War.”

Well we did our part at Beta Pi!!
Best regards,
Mark”

To Mark:  I so agree, yes we did.  Thank you for sending us this and staying in touch, “Amazing Cheek-un!”

RETURN OF RENA!

Out of the frickin’ blue, I get this email from our great friend, former girlfriend of

the one-and-only Travis Parr. . .

none other than that awesome sweetheart of ATO, RENA DABNE SARTAIN, a/k/a affectionately known as . . . “The Steak”:

“Larry - It's Rena Sartain. Hope this finds you well and as cute as ever. Jeannie Klima and I will be there for the reunion and attending the class party on Friday night. Anything going on with the ATOs so we can't get a glimpse of how beautifully you guys have aged. Would love to be included in the plans if possible. Thanks. R”
Is there any doubt?  I was nearly doing double back flips!  Of course, I told Rena we’d love to have her!  Rena, can’t wait to see you.  Tell Jeannie, I didn’t know her back in the day, but I remember seeing her, and she is most welcome.

REUNION 2020 UPDATE:

So . . . when I told FRANK COLLINS the big news - that RENA will be attending, here was Frank’s reaction . . . . . .

CHESTER BREWER has stated he will be in attendance.  What are the odds of him actually showing?  Very good I say, but you know me, I am optimistic.  Chet, we miss you!

J.D. STRICKLAND never commits to anything (because of Peter Pan Syndrome), but somehow J.D. always shows up.  We love J.D.

JIM CORDNER told me he will be in town, and as before, we’ll probably see Jim at the Tailgate.  Jim – from the bottom of my heart – we’d love for you to also come to our party.

TOM LOVINGGOOD, our Blog Baseball Correspondent . . .

and part time Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man . . .

will be there.

THE THREE STOOGES,

Frank Biller, Larry Simons and Steven Starr will be rolling out the Tick Red Carpet!

The Agenda:
Vanderbilt Reunion this fall will be Friday, October 18 -19.  I hope you can make it.

  • Friday afternoon, 1:30 p.m. we will visit Alex and Laura Wilson’s graves
  • Friday night - Vanderbilt Class party, and All Class Party in the Big Tent.
