CONGRATULATIONS BOSS!

I just received word from JOHN STEIN that he has announced his retirement, and he sent me the link to a very nice article in the Tennessean, here is the link:

I hope to retire one of these days.  Still working J.  Personally, I view retirement as a positive, something to look forward to.  And, it is a “milestone” – and thus an occasion to look forward, but also to look back.

I recall our days in the ATO House, John was a serious fellow, he served as Treasurer, he was a faithful Brother and very careful steward of our finances at ATO.

Buck and I were living in the house at the time,

and I observed Boss “crack the whip” on guys to pay their dues, and he was very diligent in seeing that Alex and Laura’s food orders got made and paid for,

and Boss made sure Alex and Laura got paid,

ensuring that our great meals were cooked and served in our ATO House.

Compare that to the House today, where the boys pay caterers to deliver food.  How does the lyric go . . . “you don’t know what you got, til’ you lose it.”  John did the hard work that made our ATO House possible.

Here are a few pics of the Boss that did not appear in the paper.

Boss was a Fonzie Clone in the Biker picture.

Boss was a fashion leader in men’s hairstyles of the day.

Boss was there on Fight Night.

Boss was there at Olympic Tales.

Boss and the lovely and talented Beth are regulars at Reunions.

Boss, let me say thank you for your service to the community - you make me feel proud of ATO.  On behalf of Beta Pi Blog, here’s congratulations to you on a spectacular career, and on your retirement. We wish you and Beth all the best!
